Solar for Edmonton, explained plainly

Solar Panels Edmonton helps homeowners, businesses and off-grid property owners across Edmonton and the Capital Region cut their electricity costs with solar. We work from the newer neighbourhoods inside the Henday to the farms and acreages in Parkland, Sturgeon and Strathcona counties.

Our customers come to us with one of three goals. Homeowners want to know what a system really costs now that the rebates have ended, what it earns in summer and how long it takes to pay off. Businesses and farms want lower bills on big roofs and open land, and a clear answer on the business tax credit. Off-grid owners need a system that keeps a cabin, a shop or a well running through a January cold snap.

For all three we start the same way: with your numbers, not our hardware.

Who we help

Homes, businesses and off-grid owners

Homeowners

A system sized to a year of your bills, built for snow and hail, earning your retail rate on everything you export. Add a battery and the furnace keeps running when the power doesn’t.

Businesses, Farms & Acreages

Warehouses, shops, grain sites and acreages with big roofs, open ground and daytime load. Incorporated businesses and farms can recover up to 30% through the federal tax credit.

Off-Grid Properties

Cabins, remote shops and acreages where the line-extension quote came back huge. Battery and generator systems that run on their own through an Alberta winter.

Numbers before hardware

Before anyone mentions panel brands, we work out the figures. We look at twelve months of your bills, measure your roof or ground space, check direction and shade, and apply the rules Alberta uses to credit what you export. Then you get the system size, month-by-month output, cost, financing options and payback year, in writing.

Sometimes the numbers don’t work: a north-facing roof, a heavy elm canopy, a bill too small to offset, or shingles that need replacing first. When that happens we tell you. It costs us a job, but it saves you 25 years with a system that under-delivers, and people remember who gave them the honest answer.

Who does the work

Installations are carried out by our own team and by our vetted local contractor partners: licensed electricians and experienced roofing crews who pull the permits, file the micro-generation application with EPCOR or FortisAlberta and commission every system.

We are upfront about this because it is how good trade work gets done in a region this size, and because it means your crew knows Edmonton roofs, snow loads, hail-season inspections and winter work. One thing doesn’t change: you keep one point of contact from the first estimate to switch-on.

What we care about

No rebate in the pitch

There is no cash rebate in 2026, and we don’t pretend otherwise. If the numbers only work with a grant, they don’t work.

Sized to use, not to roof

Alberta’s rules expect a system sized to your yearly use. Covering every plane of the roof is the most common way people overspend.

Built for the climate

Hail-rated glass, racking for snow load, layouts that shed snow, and batteries kept where it is warm.

Have these ready

  • A year of power bills or the “kWh used” line from each. Twelve months tells us more than anything else.
  • Your address, so we can check roof direction, pitch and shade on satellite imagery.
  • A photo of your electrical panel with the door open. It shows whether an upgrade is needed.
  • Plans for an EV, heat pump, hot tub or garage suite, so the system is sized for them.
