Snow-dusted solar panels on an Edmonton roof the morning after a spring snowfall

Solar Panel Repair, Snow & Maintenance in Edmonton

Output down? Inverter showing a fault? Worried about last night’s hail or the snow that won’t slide off? We service solar across Edmonton and the Capital Region, whoever installed it.

Solar Service Across the Capital Region

Solar panels need little maintenance, but not none. Panels can last decades. The inverter is the part that usually fails first, because it is the hardest-working electronics in the system, and most home systems will need one replaced at some point.

Edmonton adds two local questions: hail and snow. Modern panels are built with tempered glass and tested against hail, and most come through a summer storm untouched. After a big one, though, it is worth confirming, especially before your insurer’s claim window closes. Snow is mostly a non-issue: it slides off a pitched array on the first sunny day. What we don’t recommend is climbing up with a shovel or a broom, which scratches glass and injures people every winter.

We service systems all over Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove and the rest of the region, whoever installed them. A lot of our calls come from owners whose original installer has closed, been sold or stopped answering the phone.

Book a check if production is clearly lower than the same month last year, the inverter shows a fault or has gone dark, one panel reads low in your app, you have had a hailstorm, a mount looks loose, or nobody has been on the roof since switch-on.

If your system is still under warranty, that changes what you should do next. We check your warranty before quoting any work.

What’s included

What We Service

Low-output diagnosis

We compare production panel by panel or string by string, check for new shading and test the inverter. Most faults are found on the first visit.

Inverter repair and replacement

The most common real failure. When it needs replacing, we tell you whether a like-for-like swap or a battery-ready hybrid is the better use of your money.

Hail inspection and insurance support

A close inspection after a storm, photos and an output test, and a written report you can give your insurer if a claim is needed.

Panel replacement

For hail damage, delamination or a failed panel pulling down its string. We check your warranty first where you have the paperwork.

Racking, snow guards and roof seals

Loose clamps, rails that shifted under snow load, missing snow guards over doorways, and seals around roof attachments. A leak at a mount is a roof problem long before it is a solar one.

Cleaning and annual inspection

Deionised water and soft brushes, never pressure washers. A yearly check of output, connections, racking and the inverter, ideally in late spring.

Why us

Why People Call Us for Service

Any installer’s system

Original company gone or not calling back? That is a big share of our service work.

Warranty checked first

If the manufacturer owes you the repair, we say so instead of billing you for it.

Hail reports that insurers accept

Dated photos, panel-level readings and a plain written finding.

Local and quick

A service call is a drive across town, not a wait for someone coming up from Calgary.

After a hailstorm or a big snowfall

  • Check your app first. Compare today’s output with a similar sunny day last week. A sudden drop on one string is the clue.
  • Look from the ground. Cracked glass shows as a starburst or a cloudy patch. Binoculars help. Don’t go up.
  • Leave the snow. It slides off within a day or two of sun. Brooms, shovels and roof rakes scratch glass and pull wiring.
  • Call before the claim window closes. Insurers want dated evidence. Our inspection report gives you that.

Snow guards matter over doorways. A sheet of snow off a slick array can come down fast. We fit guards where people walk.

Process

How a Service Call Runs

  1. Tell us the symptom

Monitoring screenshots, error codes or what changed. That often narrows it down before we arrive.

  2. On-site diagnosis

Panel-level readings, inverter tests and a physical check of the array and racking.

  3. Findings and options

What failed, what it costs, what warranty or insurance covers, and what happens if you leave it.

  4. Fix and verify

Repair done and output confirmed before we leave.

Have these ready

  • A year of power bills or the “kWh used” line from each. Twelve months tells us more than anything else.
  • Your address, so we can check roof direction, pitch and shade on satellite imagery.
  • A photo of your electrical panel with the door open. It shows whether an upgrade is needed.
  • Plans for an EV, heat pump, hot tub or garage suite, so the system is sized for them.
